1. When I saw that tweet from Darnay I could not stop laughing.

2. There is no reason he isn't here for a 9 game stint. He is physically impressive this season. A much much stronger player than last season.
The big thing for though is that you notice him on the ice when he is playing with Sill, Carcillo, Adams, ect... He is all over the puck and in the heart of the play despite being paired with . His rebound goal the other night was a beauty and playing with Comeau and Goc he should get a lot more chances just like that.

The kid earned at the very least the 9 game TO.
I feel Kapanen has too, but who knows. He didn't get a lot of time with the top six talent to show anything.

If Johnston is serious about giving the top guys PK time, Adams' worth to the team completely evaporates. Dupuis, Sutter, Goc, and Spaling can handle the bulk of the PK with 87/71 jumping on late, which makes Adams even more expendable than he already is.

Up until this blog, I wasn't 100% certain, but now I am...

You are obviously a HUGE fan of Craig Adams.

Did he bully you or something at summer camp in a previous life???

LOL, I don't think I've ever witnessed a blogger spend SO much time writning about such a marginal player as is Craig Adams.

Maybe it's because he's had a rather solid... nowhere near spectacular... NHL career, something you were never able to achieve?

Craig Adams took my lunch money once. Good thing his hands are so bad, he dropped it while running away.

Ouch!

Hey Nick Spaling is the new Craig Adams.

Adams is a hard working guy who did a lot of good things but is nearing the end of his career. He's a very positive influence because he's a hard worker and good all round guy. There does come a time when guys like that - who can't offer what they could earlier in their careers - do move on. As I mentioned earlier, wouldn't surprise me at all if that's in some form of coaching either here or another NHL city.

That said...I think Sundqvist deserves a chance to get his feet wet in some regular season NHL games to see if he can maintain what he has shown so far.

One thing I don't understand. If the Penguins send Zatkoff down the AHL and not count against the cap why can't they do the same with Adams. It's painfully obvious we have better options even without Sundquist. What am I missing

Adams is a 35+ contract. Can't hide it like the younger players.

They have two different types of contracts. Next year, I believe, is Zatkoff's new deal that Shero gave him, which will count against the cap no matter what.

Craig Adams has more than one Stanley Cup ring in his collection, if I'm not mistaken.

Do you honestly believe that this stage in his career, that Craig Adams is one of the top 12 or 13 options that this team has for forward?

Zatkoff's contract will only count against the cap if he is in the NHL. If he clears waivers and is in the AHL, then his salary will never count against the NHL cap.

Adams is different, because he was 35+ when he signed it. Those contracts are basically guaranteed (less $100k) if sent down, or whatever.

With that logic, Steelers should sign Favre, there's still gas in the tank!

Just because he has more than one Stanley Cup ring from past years, doesn't mean he is presently a good player.

Not necessarily... I was just trying to prop the poor guy up a little, considering all the love Ryan has been giving him for so long now

And I guess the Penguins should have signed Brodeur instead of Greiss this summer...

I'm sure he's fine... with his 2 Cup rings, $7 mil in career earnings, and a Harvard degree, I think his post hockey life will work out ok.

Yeah seriously, and why some people want Dupes on the 1st line for the remainder of his contract.

No one is saying that Dupuis should be on the first line for the remainder of his contract.

I just want Dupuis in the best place for this team. If that first line clicks the best with him this season, that's great. If there is a better option, than I'm good with that too.

I just have a feeling that Kunitz and Dupes will suffer injuries and be out for a period of time. 2 older guys handling top minutes will be difficult.

With the play of Kap and Oscar the Grouch this preseason, I predict one of Kunitz/Duper will begin next season in another uniform.

Dave Semenko has at least 4 cup rings. Does that mean he was a good player or just a guy on a good team?
